An Age Of Asphalt?
(And polygamy for the top one percent)

Are we becoming dependent on Alberta's asphalt?
Will Canadians stop at nothing to keep us supplied?
First their tar sands bitumen, and then stripping paved roads.
Try the dirt roads they're left with for a real bumpy ride.

But what choice do they have when their government's certain
That absolutely no energy plan is required
That the Oil Mafia CEOs are in need of the billions
To acquire all those yachts and vacation homes their wives have admired.

It's a matter of necessity. Most folks don't need those things.
But each of an oil CEO's wives needs ten diamond rings.
One for each finger instead of just one.
Conspicuous consumption has only begun.

The elite truly are different and deserve much more dough.
In this day and age, "It don't pay to be po'."
Consume your bitumen. Exxon gets it at a great price
Why be concerned if their profits are extra nice?

They go to that one percent who own the shares,
And Tillerson's spouses and their multiple lairs,
Polygamy's expensive. Just one wife's a tax loss?
Imagine the chaos if you're Exxon's big boss.
