Bushie Won Big Oil's War
(For Rex W. Tillerson)

Bushie won Big Oil's Iraqi war.
Was it blood for oil? Not on your life,
Though that's what his neocons thought they had planned
To justify their kind of mid-Eastern strife.

They thought they'd be doing Big Oil a favor
If they were to privatize Iraqi oil
Then pump so much that they would swamp OPEC,
All the while welcoming the battle royal

As prices dropped to what they should be
If everyone just pumped away.
"Hold on," said ExxonMobil's CEO Tillerson.
"Save some of that oil for another day.

"Think what you're doing will do to our profits
Slashing the inflated prices we get for our crude.
How am I going to get away with my millions
And keep all of my brood adequately shoed?

"Tell our Jim Baker to stop that nonsense.
We're well aware Bushie thinks he's being loyal,
But please make damn sure he turns down those spigots.
So he sheds that blood for much, much less oil."
