Canada's Petrostate
(Shifting the blame)

Whatever means of transport: pipeline or rail car –
Whatever the container is: a drum, barrel, or jar –
Canadian crude and proponents are slimy.
The stuff they are peddling is primarily tar.

There's nothing clean about it.
You spill a drop? You've got a mess.
A leaky pipe? A wrecked oil car?
Tres difficile news to suppress.

Word always gets out. People are killed.

Usually totally innocent fatalities
All to make Big Oil humongous big bucks.
Look where they've built their refineries...

Rarely is it near where they're extracting.
Too expensive to avoid future chaotic spills?
Won't maximize their CEOs' take home
Pay or they turn shades of green around the gills?

In this case assisted by their politicians
Looking for ways to shift the blame
By transporting their crude across other countries.
It seems a shame, but it appears that's their game...
