What's Good For Wall Street
Hopefully Obama will be replacing the big boys

"What's good for General Motors…"
had a certain logic to it
Which soon will be applied to all
the bank execs who blew it.

CEOs and their directors
    who presided over losses
Will be replaced now that we've seen
how bad they've been as bosses

Overpaid for what they do,
    each owned a second home
Where he could do his fiddling
    while his underlings burned Rome.

Term limits are what Congress
    needs to jetison old wood.
Why wouldn't something similar
for Wall Street do some good?

With more accountability
    shouldn't Rubin have been fired
Before he got to Citibank
    and "voluntarily" retired?

E. Stanley did in Merrill Lynch
    before Ken Lewis bought it.
So then he ends up on the board?
Better flaunt it while you've got it,

Before Obama's task force
finds the time to get to you
And, as with G.M.'s Wagoner,
    announces that you're through.

As names like Blankfein, Pandit, Mack
    and Lewis leave the scene
Perhaps the Wall Street culture
will be able to come clean.
