Comparative Pricing
Of Senators in the U.S. Congress

Pricing Senators is tricky.
First, who are their current owners?
And before they became tenured,
    were there many nameless donors?

Above all please remember that
    no Senator is free.
Someone paid a bundle
    to advertise him on TV.

Was there mention of the side effects?
    Sponsors rarely are that crazy.
Yet it always is surprising
to find a bloke that lazy.

But to unregulated bankers,
    he's a credit defaut swap,
And to monopolistic health insurers,
    a ticket to the top.

Rank his main campaign contributors
to see who has first dibs
On what bills he's s'posed to vote against –
    on his repertoire of fibs.

An idiot like Baucus cost
    health insurers half a mil.
Menendez, Lautenberg et al.,
    it seems lack Baucus' skill.

But don't jump to conclusions.
They've been in Congress long enough
To warrant the suspicion
they'll find more money making stuff.
