Funding Goldman and the Taliban Are you bothered when Bernanke lends big bucks to Goldman Sachs? Is that how you would like to see him waste your income tax? Of course Ben's claimed it's his to spend however he thinks best, But now McChrystal claims his Karzais also are hard pressed. Congress authorized their budgets, so what's the problem, man, If while the Feds fund Goldman Sachs, Stan funds the Taliban? McChrystal's biggest hang-up's been transporting his supplies. He's had to buy protection from Karzai's family allies. So Stan farms out his trucking to local Afghan firms who pay Warlords and the Taliban to look the other way. This system worked well in Iraq where Bushie hired his cronies, Whereas in Afghanistan the locals run the ponies. To keep his caissons rolling, Stan is funding his opponents. Aren't he and Ben proof bribes, not troops, are a quagmire's chief components?
