Inadequate Planning
(Steve Harper goofed!)

Oh, Stevie! Oh, Stevie! Your tar sand's under water.
Have you as Prime Minister done everything that you oughter?
Have you been denying you're aiding and abetting
The climate changes and wetter weather you are now getting?

Not just a little more rain, but a whole lot more of it.
Are you sure that your tar sands extractors will love it?
Were they expecting that the Alberta flooding would swamp 'em
Have you faced the fact they'll want a heap of a lot more wampum?

More rain means more flooding and more water to transport
To get your gunk to where it gets refined.
How many refineries does a true petrostate need?
How many nearby are you going to find?

Does Canada lack the correct infrastructure?
If you can't provide domestic pipelines to the coast
And foreign pipelines no longer want your business,
You and your petrostate plans are suddenly toast.
