Political Shopaholic
(Can't the old former Aussie control himself?)

Rupert has long been a sick shopaholic.
He sees it. He wants it. He buys it. That's that.
Until the next sitting duck catches his eye
And he has to have it. How long till kersplat,

And the billionaire's got it? It's suddenly his!
What he will do with it's still to be seen –
How long can he wait to complete his collection
Of candidates so his TV News can feature "Christine"?

There's no cheaper way to buy an election
Than to sign those you like to deliver their views.
Don't buy advertisements. Just hire the candidate
As a featured contributor for Murdoch's Fox News.

Then sign their opponents to ironclad contracts.
Make them exclusive. Give them less broadcast time,
Locking them in so they can't appear elsewhere –
To their kangaroo court that would not be a crime.

For he and Scalia are sure Francis Scott Key
Sang "Waltzing Matilda" by the dawn's early light,
Giving immigrant Aussies the keys to the city
And robbing opponents of their will to fight.

Must we say goodbye to all of our media
Except the official one, Murdoch's Fox News?
Though he bought Scotland Yard and helped BBC shrink,
Could his FCC force C-SPAN to book his kangaroos?
