Senate Moles
On the take

Call them moles or call them rats;
No Senator should wear two hats.

Tranparency! Transparency!
    Which Senators has Aetna bought?
Joe Lieberman and Snowe, of course.
    Who else is being paid for what?
Republicans all stand to gain,
    reimbursed for doing squat.
But who is slipping loopholes in?
    How can we make sure they get caught?

If you or yours is battling cancer,
Health insurers have the answer:

That loophole in the Senate bill –
    For someone lets insurers write
Amendments, that their moles insert,
    that, after they've passed, come to light.
What good are bans on lifetime limits,
    if Aetna still can profiteer
By designing plans that limit
    what they'll pay you in one year?

There must be software that reveals
Which moles slip in the sneaky deals.

So if computer patient records
    can reduce our health care cost,
Let's computerize the Senate.
    We'd see who has and hasn't flossed,
As well as who the lobbyists
    and health insurers recompensed.
Shouldn't we as voters be told
    who's been for us? who's against?

With amendments up on Twitter.
We'd be the Senate's baby-sitter;
So, be they moles or simply rats,
No Senators would wear two hats.
