Throwing In The Towel
Being sung by Republican to the Kander & Ebb tune
"Cabaret" from "Cabaret"
(What good is sitting alone in your room?)

Why keep electing our Party of Gloom?
    We never have a say.
No one will let us play; ho-hum…
    What good is saying "Nay"?

Why won't they listen to voices of doom?
    Don't they like hearing "Nay"?
We'd yell and scream all day; ho-hum…
    But might as well amscray.

Is it the wine?
Is it the booze?
In the wings we've Palin waiting.
They're already celebrating;
Tiger Woods is copulating
While Accenture's obfuscating.

No sense electing our Party of Gloom.
    They're brushing us away.
We have no dossier; ho-hum…
    We might as well go 'way.

Bush said we're fine;
No way we'd lose.
Then Obama got elected
And McCain became dejected;
Like a dog without an owner,
Bohner has become a loner.

How can we be great prophets of doom
    If we're refused a say?
We'd filibuster, sing, or hum.
    But we are déclassé,
    Not even in the way.
