Wanna Join Their Circus?
(As a candidate or a victim?)

Only money is needed. One needn't be smart,
Or forthright and honest, successful or real.
Make up a persona. Lie for your financing.
Become suave and charming with an excess of zeal.

Don't let on that Enron had been your business model,
That Aquila destroyed employee life savings,
That accusing the POTUS of no leadership skills
Sounds to the world like a lunatic's ravings.

Make your pitch to extremists. Ignore independents.
Swear that most unemployed are living on drugs
And need to be tested by private drug testers,
Justifying electing drug connected humbugs.

Try to explain that though vouchers would end Medicare,
Privatizing our school system's great for the rich
Leaving middleclass students less educated
And the poor even less so, while ignoring the glitch.

Point out that it's better to let ALEC write laws for red states
While Grover explains taxes cause so much more pain
Than spending more billions on Karzai's corruption.
Above all never admit that your last name was Cain.
