Hasn't it occurred to Bush
   he's being double-crossed?
That the god he's praying to's
the one whose sports teams lost?
We see them before ev'ry game
   praying on their knees:
One team's god will "help" it win –
   the other's god's a tease.

Bush is so damn sure he's right,
   "an instrument of god."
You'd think he'd realize by now
his choice of gods is flawed.
This year's Red Sox god's not his –
his is the New York Mets',
Who cleans up ev'rytime Bush prays
   by offering side bets.

Now most will say there's just one god
and that, no doubt, is true,
But do you think he gives a damn
that no one wins but you?
That no one wins but Junior Bush
who's stretched the truth for years?
Apparently not even his
   has had that many beers.
