Reality

Reality appears to be
a function of what Bush can see,
which may explain his brush with Waterloo.
His down is up; his up is down;
   his noun's a verb; his verb's a noun.
If not, the fault has got to be with you.

But was it lightning or Zoloft
   that flicked his teleprompter off,
leaving him to ad lib on his own?
Who was it staged that sneak attack?
Saddam? But then he got his prompter back…
God bless Karen and her picture phone.

For with her help Bush then could see,
   just as plain as AYZ,
that Cheney, too, had been wrong all along.
The truth provided by Verizon
   seemed to widen his horizon.
At least he didn't name the Vietcong…

Now that we know why he was starin'
   how about embedding Karen
   with Iraqi forces in Baghdad?
If she phones in what might have been,
   will reality sink in?
Will Bush learn bad from good and good from bad?
