We Must All Be Very Kind To Judy Miller
Sung to the Noel Coward tune
"We Must All Be Very Kind To Auntie Bessie"

We must all be very kind to Judy Miller.
She had planned on twenty-years-to-life
For fear that Scooter'd scold her
For what he never told her –
Things that have a limited shelf life.

How much simpler if she'd just invented stories
Of what she would have liked to hear him say,
And then if he denied it, claim she'd merely prophesied it.
Who knows? With luck they might have let her stay.

We must all be very kind to Judy Miller.
Now that they've so rudely tossed her out.
The poor dear had been so sure
Of a life-long sinecure,
And now she's back to sticking her neck out,

Hoping that her prior secret sources
Won't end up the way that Scooter did –
To cover up for Cheney doesn't qualify as brainy,
When Cheney did what was forbid,
   then went and hid.

We must all be very kind to Judy Miller.
Her dissappointment must be off the charts.
To replace the city's clamor
With a sojourn in the slammer
And then lose it, causes lots of broken hearts.

And we doubt that Judy Miller's the exception
As she watches Novak's spiel on CNN.
Instead of peace and quiet, there will surely be a riot
When that craven, raving douche bag
   ends up in the pen.
